Despite the long journeys and overnight stays, Sunderland Ladies have already had two rewarding games in the South East in their new Championship season, with a draw against Crystal Palace and a win against Charlton and will be looking to add to their points tally with a game against Watford Women next Sunday 14th November. Watford play their games at The Orbital Fasteners Stadium, the ground of Kings Langley F.C., Hempstead Road, WD4 8BS, and hopefully exiled supporters in the area will come along and cheer the Ladies on. There is no distraction of a men’s game on Saturday and as the kick-off isn’t until 3.30 p.m. there need be no conflict with any Remembrance involvement earlier in the day.
If travelling by road, take exit 20 off the M25 and follow signs for the A4251. At the roundabout take the first exit and drive through Kings Langley High Street. After about one mile the ground will be on your right. There is free parking at the ground or if full there is plenty of street parking nearby. The nearest train station to the ground is Apsley, to which there is an hourly service from Euston and Watford Junction. The ground is a 25 minute walk from the station. (Coming out from the station turn right and walk along London Road and then Hempstead Road. The ground will be on your left.)
Attendance, and vocal encouragement, of supporters at away games is always particularly appreciated by the players who are happy to give autographs and have selfies with junior members. It’s very much a family atmosphere so come along and enjoy the fun and perhaps even see England Lionesses of the future.
